The short version

Pic-Time’s galleries and selections are excellent. Contracts, invoices, and booking live in a second app you connect and pay for. Edit builds them in, with one portal for your client.

No second app

Booking with deposits, contracts with e-signatures, estimates, invoices, and payments, on every plan, on the same project as the gallery.

A real client portal

Each client logs in to one place with their galleries, contracts, invoices, delivered files, and messages (Studio and Agency plans).

Proofing on every plan

Picks with limits, Guest picks, and a Matched filter for the shots everyone agrees on, with no account needed to proof.

Where Pic-Time is great

Pic-Time makes gorgeous galleries, and if prints are a big part of your income, it’s hard to beat.

  • Prints and products. A built-in store with 30+ partner labs and automated sales campaigns. Edit sells digital downloads only.
  • Album design. An AI Album Designer and a polished presentation for wedding and portrait work.
  • Collaborative selections. Selection requests with deadlines, reminders, and comments pinned right on the photo.
  • A low starting price. If you only need galleries, its entry plans cost less than Edit.

Where Edit is different

Pic-Time covers galleries beautifully. Edit is for photographers who want the whole job in one place, especially with business clients.

  • No second app to pay for and keep in sync. Booking, contract, gallery, picks, invoice, files, and messages all live on one project.
  • A real client portal. On Studio and Agency, each client logs in to one place on your studio’s address with their galleries, contracts, invoices, delivered files, and messages. On Solo, everything goes by secure link.
  • Proofing on every plan. No account needed to proof. Your client’s picks and their team’s Guest picks sit side by side, the Matched filter shows the shots everyone agrees on, and extra retouches are paid for right in the gallery (Studio and Agency).
  • Built for business clients. PO numbers, NET terms, automatic late fees, files that unlock when the invoice is paid, and on Studio and Agency, up to 15 people on one client account.

Switching

Don’t migrate. Just start.

Tyler Coleman, founder of Edit
“I didn’t want a gallery app plus a business app plus the work of keeping them in sync. I wanted one place for the whole job, so I built it, and I run my own shoots on it.”
Tyler Coleman, photographer and founder of Edit

Switching from Pic-Time

Is Edit a good Pic-Time alternative?

If you want custom client galleries and the business side (booking, contracts, invoices, and payments) in one app, yes. If print and album sales are central to your business, Pic-Time’s lab store does that and Edit doesn’t.

Does Pic-Time have contracts and invoices?

Not built-in. Pic-Time connects to separate business apps, like HoneyBook or Studio Ninja, for contracts, session invoices, and booking. Edit includes all three on every plan.

Does Edit charge commission on gallery sales?

No. Edit takes 0% on every plan, and payments go to your own Stripe or Square account.

Can I keep my Pic-Time galleries if I switch?

Yes. There’s nothing to move. Leave past galleries where they are and run new shoots through Edit.

Try Edit on your next shoot.

Nothing to migrate. Run one real job through it, start to paid, and see how it feels.
