How it works

Quote it, invoice it, watch it mark paid.

  1. 1

    Send an estimate

Line items and a total. They accept, decline, or ask for a change right on it.

  2. 2

    It becomes the invoice

An accepted estimate turns into a draft invoice in one click, ready to send.

  3. 3

    They pay online

Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or bank transfer, through your own Stripe or Square.

  4. 4

    It marks itself paid

The invoice and the project update on their own, and a receipt goes out with your branding.

The details

Every invoice, the way clients expect it.

0% of your revenue

Payments go straight to your Stripe or Square account. Edit never takes a cut of an invoice.

Payment plans

Split an invoice into a deposit and up to 12 payments, each with its own due date and reminders. See payment plans.

PO numbers and NET terms

Add a PO number, billing address, and terms like NET 15, the things a business client’s AP team needs.

Bank transfer (ACH)

Lower-fee bank payments that show pending until they clear, then mark paid on their own.

Sales tax for your state

Guidance on how your state taxes prints, sessions, and digital images. Tax stays off until you confirm you’re registered.

Reminders and late fees

Friendly pre-due nudges, past-due reminders, and an optional late fee that follows your state’s rules and is shown up front.

Per-line discounts

Discount one line, like a returning-client session, without touching the rest of the invoice.

Offline payments

Log cash, check, or Venmo payments so every invoice tells the truth.

Card surcharge, done right

Optionally pass on card fees within what your state allows. Debit cards are never charged.

Invoice questions

How do photographers invoice clients?

Most send an invoice with line items for the session, retouching, and any usage fees, take a deposit up front, and collect the balance before final delivery. In Edit, the invoice lives on the project next to the gallery and contract, and clients pay online.

Does Edit take a percentage of my payments?

No. Edit takes 0% on every plan. Payments go through your own Stripe or Square account, so only their standard processing fees apply.

Can clients pay by bank transfer?

Yes. ACH bank transfer is built in and costs less than a card. The invoice shows pending until the transfer clears, then marks paid on its own.

Can I charge late fees?

Yes, optionally. Late fees are capped, follow your state’s rules, and are printed on every invoice so clients see them up front. Make sure they’re in the contract your client signs.

Can clients pay in installments?

Yes. Split any invoice into a deposit and up to 12 payments with their own due dates. Each payment gets its own reminders, and clients can pay ahead anytime. See payment plans.

Can I send estimates before invoicing?

Yes. Clients can accept, decline, or request a change right on the estimate, and an accepted estimate becomes a draft invoice in one click.
